PARENTS URGED TO ATTEND WITH ATHLETE

Tom House and the NPA have been training the Worlds’ Elite Athletes for over 40 years. Called the “Guru of Throwing” by Nolan Ryan, some other notable students include Randy Johnson, Orel Hershiser, Mark Prior, Derek Holland, Tom Brady, Drew Brees and Matt Ryan.

Based on 30 + years of scientific research all IRB certified by distinguished universities, Dr. House is widely viewed as the “Father of Modern Pitching Mechanics.” NPA staff, along with Sonoma State coaching staff and pitching staff will assist in the training, ensuring athletes receive a high level of attention and training.

  • Athletes will learn and perform the same 4 blocks of drills used at the professional level including Core Strengthening, Arm Care and Recovery, Joint Stability, Flexibility and Range of Motion and Patterning/PNF of Critical Throwing Movements.
  • Athletes will be tested for strength, speed and symmetry of their arm/shoulder complex, torso and legs as well as their mechanical efficiency and will receive a Proprietary NPA 2-page evaluation with training suggestions to mitigate weak points AND AVOID ARM INJURY. Athletes will know their current Safe Velocity Capacity and how to achieve it.
  • Athletes will learn how to execute the 9 Critical Movements in the Bio Kinetic Chain, in the right sequence and with the correct speed to achieve optimal performance WHILE MAINTAINING ARM HEALTH.
  • Athletes will learn numerous drills that train them on proper movement, provide a means to “perform the reps” necessary to master the movement while simultaneously strengthening their arm.
  • Athletes will have a “Bullpen Session” with Dr. House to assess key elements of movement to improve.
